SATA 3Gb/s????

Nope.

If you have a hefty raid setup, I suppose you could some very high burst speeds that would make use of it.
 
One thing it will be useful for is port multiplexers, which will allow you to connect up to 15 SATA devices to a single SATA port.
 
parallel ATA has 1Gb/s and 1.33Gb/s (ATA100/133) versions and drives cant hit that, why would 3Gb/s surprise you? Although with port multiplexors theres more of a usefulness to it.
 
so if there arent harddrives that go that fast there talking about useing like raid 0??
 
I was under the impression that most S-ATA went 1.5 Gb's and only a fiew of the newer setups could get to 3Gb's and the only way they could even begin to use it was with raid 0. Even than they dont utalize the full bandwidth, but hey better too much than not enuff.
