Sapphire RMA

it seems we have a slight problem with the replacement card, it only works with the bios switched to uber, with quiet mode enabled, i get no display out of it.
It's just a fan profile, you could probably look up the actual %/Temp on Google and create it yourself.
If you don't feel like RMAing again...

Maybe they'll give you a Tri-X this time. :3

Glad to hear of your experience with them, I live in Ontario as well and good to know it goes to Markham for RMA! I just picked up two reference sapphire 290X's for $350 a piece, such good prices on these cards now! Did they absolutely require the receipt? Or was it a $20 charge on the Canadian side as well?
You can get by without a receipt. They may or may not ask for the $20 fee

So, you asked to pay to upgrade and they told you that you couldn't do that, but they upgraded you for free. I'd be very happy and gracious if that happened to me.
Sorry, Im not getting email updates for this thread so I forgot about it.

No I didn't ask to pay for an upgrade or even imply that i expected anything more than a reference card as a replacement.
I just asked if I could get a replacement card with Hynix memory instead of Elpida so i knew i wouldnt have any more issues and my rep simply didn't answer the question and acted like I never asked it....LOL

Anyway, like I said, I now have a 100% working Tri-X with Hynix memory and have had zero issues with it.

And you're darn right I'm happy and feel lucky....how could I not. :D
My reference card being replaced with a Tri-X and with Hynix memory on top of that was completely unexpected!

Reading this thread actually makes me feel a little guilty since I didn't deserve it any more than anyone else.
Not guilty enough to be willing to give up my Tri-X of course. ;)
But guilty enough to wish others had gotten the same treatment as I did.

Good to hear the news, it looks like I may have to RMA one of my cards and reading this thread gives some reassurance if I decide to send it in.

Thanks for the information! :)

I received a new RMA number from athlon Canada. They will let me know when the replacement card arrives and I won't have to cover the return shipping either. I also requested a hynix equipped card. They indicated that they will try.

Wow, this has taken over a month without a resolution... That is terrible, I think I will recommend not to get Sapphire for my family and friends in Canada :/ . I hope you get a working replacement this time, I can't imagine being down for more than a month, I hope this one works for you !

to be fair, within 3 weeks I had a replacement card, unfortunately there was an issue with it (it is working enough to use in the mean time)

Also they have been very responsive and are paying shipping both ways for the second card, so I can't say that I'm disappointed.
