I don't get it. Fresh from a Windows XP Pro 32-bit or Windows 7 Pro 64-bit install, it's impossible to run the Sandra Memory Bandwidth benchmark because it immediately locks these systems.
I had thought it had something to do with the memory controllers in a Dual Opteron rig being absolutely insane and saturating the Hypertransport links, but leaving it overnight gave me the same locked solid result.
I know for sure it's not my RAM as the internal diagnostics of my Intellistation A would catch that and I have chipkill ECC enabled anyway. The other platform is the HDAMA motherboard that's so well-regarded.
Am I missing a driver? I have this feeling it's something insanely simple.
