Samung drive test utility

I want to test a samsung hd I think is dying and found this utility from samsung I want to use

It says you have make a bootable floppy and put the exe file on the same floppy. What should I do if the machine doesnt have a floppy? Can I make a usb drive bootable, or do a dos boot cd with the samsung exe on it?

Is it a bootable image I can burn to cd? or will i still need a dos boot disk?

its a Windows based diagnostic tool.

So, you just double-click on the .exe file to install

Thanks its running now I ran a check disk which found a few hundred unreadable segments, but was able to move the data and it booted! It passed the quick western digital test and is running the extended one now

This WD Diagnostic Tool is in my list of essential softwares. Very useful and don't need to use a bootdisk.

If you want a bootable diagnostic tool, google for Ultimate Boot CD. Its an ISO image for you to burn as a bootable CD and you can choose a host of diagnostic tools to use.
