What happened to Samsung's Zero Dead Pixel Policy? I remember reading about it that it was to start at the first of the year (2006). I have been all over Samsung's site and can't find anything on it. If it still is in effect could someone post a link? Thanks.

its not quite a one pixel policy. for 21-24" monitors, its SEVENTEEN bad pixels!!!

i wouldnt worry about it though, if you get them on the phone and explain to them that you will not buy any more samsungs unless they exhange your one-bad-pixel monitor, im sure they will. just tell them its untolerable, too noticeable. they wont give you a hard time, its a good reason to buy from samsung.

its just for their protection. they have excellent support, they gave me no hassle what-so-ever when i simply asked 'i want a replacement'. the time makes a difference too, because normally if the pixels are all working within the first two weeks they will work for a long time to come, unless you abuse the monitor in some way.

i think its their general policy to allow hassle-free exchange within the first couple weeks of purchase, after that it must be a major defect like backlight burnout or lines across the screen.

but why australia & s. korea, not USA? surely they have more customers in usa than australia and s. korea combined?

thats probably why they dont. that and americans are too snooty and demand perfection. look at me, i couldnt live with the backlight bleed:D
