Samsung Spinpoint Error "melody"

It is a failure of the motor to spin up to active speed, so the drive won't post and identify. It could be the drive frame itself (if the motor is physically bad) or the motor controller chip (or its supporting parts) on the drive board. If you don't need the data off the drive just toss it if it is out of warranty. if you do need data you could try a board swap by buying another identical drive or a donor board but most likely you are in professional drive repair territory.
 
Thanks mwroobel. That was what i thought. But the sound was just too odd, so it might have been something salvageable.
