Samsung 710N

thats an excellent monitor as long as you dont need DVI.

it even has a 12ms response time. though the quality may not be as great as DVI (VGA still looks good. thats what i say because i still have yet to be spoiled w/ DVI), but for gaming it will be great w/ that quick response time.

great price too. i say go for it.

Exact monitor I was going to buy before I decided on the Imagequest L90D+... You can see them at Circuit city labeled under the 712 I think... Go check it out for yourself... I liked it when I did..

Just ordered this myself. Can't afford the 2005whatever from Dell at the moment, nor do I think my current rig could push that res. So, When I upgrade my rig I can hook the samsung up as a second monitor ;)

The Samsung 710N is a great LCD for the price. If you can afford to spend a little more though i would suggest thinking about the 19" Hyundai L90D+ that uses the Samsung 8ms panel and it has DVI. Its the fastest LCD out.

This one fit my Pocketbook best, and allowed me to get a few other things I absolutely needed, like a new Mouse and Keyboard with my limited upgrade funds. Now, I just gotta wait til Wednesday for FedEx ;)

Got it. Love it. No Dead / Stuck pixels, Easy setup and its been great so far. Not to mention being able to use my desk for something other than a monitor stand ;)

rookie, how is the samsung under lower resolutions (interpolation)?

Haven't tried anything other than the native resolution and 1024x768 and they both look aboutthe same. I'll try a few other oddball resolutions later.. (8x6 , 1152 x 852 or whatever that is etc)
