My media PC has a Corsair HX620. It has a core i5 750 and 2 ati 4870's. I ran some apps to stress the cpu and video and my kill-a-watt read about 450W.
Generally, whats a good wattage % to aim for with your PSU?
Also another somewhat unrelated question. Just this morning my server which is on all the time was off. I tried to power it on and I got no output on the screen. I unplugged everything from the PSU except for the motherboard and cpu connectors. The machine still would not output anything to the screen when powered on. Finally, I took an old 350W PSU and just plugged it into the motherboard/cpu and the machine powered on. After that I plugged the original PSU back in and now it comes on again. Now that it works again I'm a little weary about just letting it go. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this kind of behavior? The PSU in this machine is a Corsair HX850.
