To insulate sata cables by wraping first in aluminum foil and then using electrical tape to completey cover it up so none is exposing. Would this work and is it safe incase some of teh foil pokes out. I ask because I want to insulate my cables, I want them to be black, and I dont want to buy new cables. Thanks for any advice in advance.

P.S I did do a search and it came up with foil tape, but I wasnt sure if that was the same as actual foil thats why I asked. And sorry for spelling/grammer errors.
 
I would recommend against it, if you're cables move at all, could sort something out.
 
Even if its taped in electrical tape to prevent the foil from touching anything?
 
Eh, it's not an issue. I've got 3 sata cables zipped tied together, passing directly over several fans as well as other high interference components, behind cables, near ICs, inside my computer without any issues at all. You probably read the webpage on how sata cables can lead to corrupt data. It really only hold true if you have massive RF interference coming in. I've never had a problem with mine.

Unless you're working in an automotive junkyard under the electromagnet, or on top of a radio station's broadcast tower, you don't need to worry about that.
