RX580 Upgrade...nVidia?

My opinion: if you're patient, you can probably get a 1080 in your budget. That's the upgrade path I would recommend.

As for these various temperatures, I have to assume that these are often due to case selection and location, cable management, fan profile, case fan location and choice...and the like.

I ran, I think, 16 rx580's of every flavor mentioned and they were within 2* C of each other on the same workload.

Here's an odd one. The 8gb RX480's (and the 580 is basically an overclocked 480) are selling for around 80-90 bucks on ebay, and even cheaper for the reference blower models. That's almost identical to what the 1050ti 4gb is going for. Is mining rig liquidation still a thing? Current titles don't seem very demanding at 1080p.
This is true. My game library is limited (purposely) but I do have Doom 2016. My RX 480 runs smooth as silk in Vukan at 1080 with all ultra settings in that title. Wanted a second one for another Dell workstation, yet was afraid of mining. When FrgMstr put some on Ebay which I was confident had not been abused, I jumped at the chance. $95 for a RX 480 that had not been mined, already flashed to the best BIOS, and pretty much sat in a box after only been run for a review. Good deal in my book. Only wish I had a waited a bit longer until he put the Sapphire nitro+ for sale. Rather have that than the Gigabyte.

I had always thought with new cpu's everything should be retested as my Ryzen 3600 has L3 Cache 32MB and Cross Fire likes Gen 3 plays dam smooth on a pair of RX 570's .. as the reason I chose cpu over video card purchase and an idea what to do with mining cards .
