On my main box ......
Skulltrails MoBo.
2x 5450's @ 3.33Ghz.
8 Gb of DDR2-800 FB rAM.
9800GTX @ 725,1950,1111, 177.35 drivers.
Windoze XP64 Pro.

I run 4x VM's and the GPU2 client.
I've been useing SMP Seesaw Pro toset affinities of the clients so that the GPU client was on one core and the 4x VM run on the other 7.

The first setup was to isolate the GPU2 client on it own core and let the VM's and everything else fight it out for the other seven.
The graphics where very laggy.

Now I've tried it the other way around.
I've isolated the VM's on 7 cores and the GPU2 client and everything else now runs on the remaining 1 core.

The graphics are as smooth as anything ........... :D

I no longer need to pause the client to play games, web page loading doesn't lag, etc, etc.
The VM's have gained ~100 PpD and as long as I don't do anything on the box, the GPU2 client does not suffer any points loss.
If I do anything then the GPU2 client slows down by 100-1000 PpD but thats ok as the box on a whole is so much more responsive.

So just a heads up on setting affinities with the GPU2 client and VM's.

With the 177.35 driver, I'm able to run 2xVM + GPU2 + console on my main PC for a total of about 9000 ppd without any noticeable slowdown (the GPU2 only use 20-25% of a core). We cannot say the same with the 174.55 driver, which require a full core to work properly.

 
I've reset the affinity so that all folding cores can use all the CPU cores.
I'll report back if its quicker or not on a dual Quad that way.

I tried running it so the 4x VM's and the GPU2 core shared all 8 CPU cores.
The PpD was the same. +/- 50 PpD when doing nothing.
BUT the graphics where noticably more laggy.

I use SMP Seesaw Pro to first isolate one VM on to the first 7 cores.
Then I move anything VM related onto the same 7 cores.
This leaves Windoze and the GPU2 client running on the eighth core.

I don't know how well this trick will work while running 2x VM and the GPU2 client on a Quad core.
But I've found it does work well on my Dual Quads if the graphics are lagging.
