Does anybody have any experience with this PS? It was reccomended to me by a friend of mine who has like 12 overclocked computers, writes for madshrimps, and works for Mushkin. I trust his judgement, but I wanted to know what you guys think as well. I read in another post on this forum that its a rebaged coolmax.

If I get it, it will be connected to and powering a Chaintech VNF4 Ultra ZENITH VE running a A64 3200+BW venice, most likely a x850pro flashed ot x850xtpe, audigy 1, two 7200rpm maxtors, 2 cd drives, a zalman CNPS7700-AlCu w/ the 120mm fan, a vantec stealth 120mm, and some no name 92mm.

I might or might not overclock. I dont know if my ram is going to be able to handle it or not, so I will have to see when I get all this going. I dont know if this has any bearing on whether this PS will be adequete or not, but I thought I should mention it.

I wasnt really planning on buying a new PSU, but my friend suggested that I get one. I am currently running a 420w Thermaltake silent purepower. So, I was kindof hoping to not spend too much money and I can get this one on Newegg for $55. If there is something better I should get that is reasonably priced like this PSU, please let me know.

Thanks!!!

+3.3V@30A, +5V@50A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A, -12V@1A, +5VSB@2.5A

That is a way excessive five volt rail. You would be better off with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103939

+3.3V@22A, +5V@14A, +12V1@16A, +12V2@16A, +12V3@16A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@2.5A

I has more power where it counts, the 12V rails, and cheaper too.

EDIT: The link says $89.99 are you sure you can get it for $55?

Rosewill PSU's are a veratible hodgepodge of the cheapest OEM's around. They have over inflated 5v rails as the previous poster said in order ot pump up their wattage rating while maintaining anemic 12v's (generally), most likely rated at the very unrealistic operating temp of 25c or so, have an unknown derating curve and general poor build quality.

That being said look at the Xclio line at NewEgg.

I dont think I can afford to spend $90 on a PS right now. I was really hoping to not spend more than $60. Is there anything in that price range that will suffice?

This one if you are on that tight a budget (probably the best you will find under 60 and generally actually a good PSU)...although looking at the rest of the system I don't know why you would want to go real cheap on the part that could kill it all:

Well, I can probably swing the Antec if you really think it would be a much much better PS. I like the modular cable setup it has. I started out just buying a a64 3200+ from the deals forum and now its turning into a whole system upgrade lol. I'm gonna be hurtin for money :(

The xclio doesn't have modularcables......the Antec Neo's and Neo HE's do......

Isn't that how it always happens? If you are really tight on money PM jonnyGURU and see what PSU's he has laying around that passed muster over at SLCentral. Save you a bundle and give him the money to get new review items.

I was referring to the Antec PS :)

Is jonnyGURU a member of this forum?

That Xclio does look nice, and it has some kick-ass 12V current for a $52.50 PSU. I would go with it if your wallet is already hurtin'. I don't know a whole lot about it's quality, but I'd say it's a good deal better than the Rosewill.

It comes from the same manufacturer that builds for Antec (Channel Well Technologies). That's a pretty good indicator.
