I can get one from a friend for 50 bucks.


I plan on doing a RAID 5 array...with 8 200gb hdds (eventually, will start out with 6 though)

Anyone used one of these?

I used the Highpoint 404 controller in my old IT7 MAX, but not with any RAID levels set.
 
Fixing to overhaul my old Athlon Thunderbird 1Ghz setup here within the next week or so with a shiny new Athlon 64 setup, I got a RocketRAID 404 with my parts to replace my pathetic Silicon Image card that has given me alot of hell with my 0+1 RAID setup this past year. I am currently running 4 x 40 gig Maxtor Diamond Plus 9's... When I get it upgraded, up and running I will give you some initial thoughs and observations. :)
