RIAA suffered another setback this week as a motion against unnamed William and Mary students was denied.

In Interscope v. Does 1-7, an ex parte proceeding in the Eastern District of Virginia, in Newport News, Virginia, in a 5-page decision by Judge Walter D. Kelley, Jr., the Court denied the RIAA's ex parte motion for an order granting discovery into the identities of students at the College of William & Mary.

Excellent!

As a University student, I am very un-cool on the idea of someone just asking for all my personal information from my MAC address because they think I might have done something illegal (and we all know how accurate the RIAA's guessing is  ).

Motions denied again? Lol @ the RIAA. Appears if their winning streak against the little people is finally beginning to taper off a bit.

Fuck the RIAA.
Fuck the RIAA.
Fuck the RIAA.

oh and Fuck the MPAA too...

[/rant]

Funny how they think the defendants have the burden of proof... it's wack... WTF...

They need to do massive management layoffs like normal companies do when their business is failing and get rid of the extraneous salaries being paid to them. Then their profit margins can remain and everyone will be happy.

And Fuck the RIAA and MPAA.
