Return my LCD?

So I bought an NEC LCD 1765 and the thing is amazing. Analog-converted picture clarity is better than any DVI I've seen. And the protective glass prevents my monkey from climbing on my desk and scratching the screen. However...
I've come to notice that the thing is brighter at the bottom and darker nearer the top. Its not too noticeable until I'm editing pictures or watching a movie. Is this normal for an LCD? My roommate's multisync something or other LCD seems to have the same issue, but not nearly as much as mine.

Do I return it or is the next monitor just going to be the same? Thanks for the input.

Its because the backlight is only like a cold cathode tube so sometimes you get uneven backlighting with some lcds, theres nothing you can do and even if you returned it the replacement will probably have the same issue.
