i'm trying to help out a freind who has a corrupt hard drive.
here's the skinny:
1) only will be recognized by motherboard if not booted recently.
2) once in windows as a slave drive, it is recognized, but only briefly and then dissapears. in linux, i can get a little more information out of it, but not much.
3) i tried the freezer trick, but i'm not sure if i did it properly. i froze it for an hour (in two zip lock bags), and then waited for it to be not so cold it would attract condensation. i was able to see more of the file structure after this, but was not able to do anything about it.
4) i tried booting upside down and various other positons, and that didn't help.
anything else i can try?
