Replacing Swiftech radiator barbs

Can I replace the plastic barbs with some dangerden fatboy barbs? they are both G1/4, so my instinct is that, yes, it will work, but the o-rings look to be in different places.
 
not sure about the DD ones but im sure they would be fine, I put G1/4 compression fittings on my without an issue
 
As long as you can get the o-ring to seal, you'll be good to go. Some teflon or similar pipe tape will help a little if you are especially concerned.
 
The threads are much shorter on the danger den barbs, but as long as they're spaced properly, I should be okay, right?
 
Yes. The key to the seal on barbs is the o-ring, not the threads. In the case of the Dangerden barbs with very short threads, this is even more true. The tightening of the barb to the device is to get the o-ring to form a water tight seal. A little pipe tape can help a little as it adds a little extra barrier to the water along the threads. After looking at a picture of just how short the threads are on the barbs you are using, I'd say don't bother with the pipe tape.
