Hey all, recently one fan in my Antec TruePower 430W died on me and I don't have any money now or in the future for a new one. So I was wondering if there is any special fan I need to get to work in it or not, or just any 80mm (perhaps with some LEDs to spice it up a bit) fan will work.

I do realize that it could possibly be very dangerous an I need to not touch anything inside the case. So that does not need to be mentioned :)

Thanks!

you shouldnt really be doing this however keep the PSU plugged but SWITCHED OFF at the mains, take your time and dont touch anything but the fan.

its not that difficult, but unplug the cord on the back of the psu, keep everything plugged in. then presss the power on, and make sure you can discharge as much of the voltage out of the capacitors as you can. I blew the fan controller and had to rewire all my fans, just take your time and make sure you make good solder connections that dont hit the outside of the case when you put it back together.

Well before you totally replace the fan...Here's one thing to try....Peel the sticker off the fan, and in the middle (after you've pulled the sticker off) there should be a rubber gasket...Take the smallest flat head screwdriver you have and pop that rubber piece off....Now fill up that hole with oil (not wd-40 as it's a water displacer) I use machine oil or turbine oil....Once you've filled the hole up, replace the gasket and spin the fan around with your finger....Once it's nice and loose....Use a paper towel and rubbing alcohol to clean up any of the excess oil on the fan....Now pop that sticker back on there...And let me know if that works.....We used to do that when I worked for the navy...And 99.9% of the time that fixed our fan problems

Seriously though whats the status on your psu fan?

EDIT: I felt that the off topic things posted before might've gotten me in trouble with the mods....Edited post under the C.Y.O.A. act....In case you don't know what that is....Cover Your Own Ass

Wow, sorry guys it was only yesterday that I posted this, lol; I do have to go to school and what not.

I promise that I'll post a reply to see if the grease thing worked, it might not be for a couple days tho, since I have a bunch of school work to do.
