Replacing GTX460

So, I've got a Crossfire board, but a GTX460.
I'm thinking about selling it or trading it for either a:

6850
6790
or a 7770.
Was even thinking about 2 4850's. (Only bad thing about this one is they'll be obsolete the soonest.)

They're all near each other in comparison, and the plan is to eventually get a second of whichever I choose and crossfire them. It would beat a GTX460 significantly, as I'm not interested in dropped $300+ for a single card that can beat 2 of those in XFire. (Nor am I interested in replacing my CPU+Mobo so I can SLI.)

It's mostly for gaming. I play things like WoW at 1440x900 for performance, but pretty much everything else(Dead Space 2, BF3, Crysis) on a 32" 1080p Screen. (Dual-Monitor setup.) The 460 can just about max everything out and play things moderately smoothly, but I have to lower some things to get some real playability out of it.

Just looking for advice or comments on whichever you guys would consider the best choice, or if a different AMD card would be more worth it, etc.

Try to keep the worth/price around the GTX460, as I'll be selling that one, or trading it. ($80 - $140.)

Depends on the PSU you have. The 7770's aren't horribly priced and run on a single 6pin so if you only have two, those would be great cards for crossfire. The 6870 is my go-to value card as it offers tremendous value for only a couple bucks more than the 6850.
 
I've got a 730w. Can't remember the exact model. I'll have to post it later on tonight when I get home.
(By tonight, I mean like 6PM Central.)
 
Also, it's got the plugins for a lot of crap. It's that kind that's got the wires that you sort of plug-in?
I forget what it's called. lol.
 
A 7770 is ~ a downgrade/sidegrade from a GTX 460, so I would rule that option out. GTX 460's are worth ~$100 new, so that also keeps your options down. A 6870 on sale wouldn't be a bad option. I'm in the same boat looking for a cheap card for a LAN machine (extra seat for friends) and am leaning towards the $200 range (560Ti 448 on sale, 6950 2GB on sale, 7850 in the future, etc.).

The downgrade from a GTX 460 to a 7770 is very minimal and I'd be XFiring, so in the end it'd still be an improvement.
This is all from benchmarks, of course. In reality they could be worlds apart, but I'm thinking it's a safe bet to assume they're roughly the same performance-wise.
Or rather, it's good enough to last until I can afford a second one.

I debated on going a bit higher, I just hate spending lots of money at one time.
I may do it, there would just have to be a good deal going on or something.
 
I can get a 6870 for around $135-$150 on ebay, so that isn't a bad option at all.

Also, whatever card I get, I'll replace the PSU accordingly if needed. (Obviously.)
So my PSU atm isn't a huge deal.
 
If your plan is to X-Fire them later why are you not just saving your money to buy a second card that will be faster than 2?

I'd rather avoid the excess heat, noise and power consumption. Plus you have to deal with whatever hiccups you might encounter with X-Fire.
 
Like I said, I don't want to drop $300 on a card that can outperform those cards in a XFire setup. I dislike dropped big sums of money at one time.

I'm just trying to replace the GTX460 with an AMD card that's about the same, so that in the future(And by future, I'm talking within the month) I can get a second one.

If I WAS to go with a single card setup, what's the cheapest AMD card that would outperform those in XFire?
