Thought I'd give an update on my Raptor RMA from this thread.

The replacement drive is completely different. The random seeks are gone and the drive is much quieter. Before the seeks were quite percussive. Even though I had decoupled the drive with grommets and rubber pads you could feel the hits through the case. The new drive has a ringy, more metallic sound to it, but is MUCH quieter.

Anyway, thought some of you might be interested, as the Western Digital diagnostics reported no problems with the first drive when that definitely was not the case .
