Any of you guys that have replaced the stock mounting nuts on the Big Typhoon with something else could let me know what and what size? It's a royal PITA to screw down those tiny little nuts, especially after the motherboard is mounted in the case. What about some little wing nuts or something? Where would you recommend looking for these replacement nuts? Home Depot? I don't know what TT was thinking when they came up with those little nuts. They are almost impossible to screw down very tight by hand.

Hey man, wondering the samething myself...

However, i saw on a online review somewhere the person used the extra large brass stand offs on the top and also the bottem. I belive you are given 4 with the kit. This will make it alittle easier to tighten down. Also, t_ski (guy i bought mine from) reviewed the heatsink and he said he used a socket without the wrench, this will surely give you a better grip on the little nut if you decide to use that.

My other thought was to wait till i get it, grab a screw and head to Home De-pot and grab some wing nuts =)

hah, I had the same problem today

I used the standoffs instead of the nuts-they work perfectly

Were you able to get a good grip on them and get them tighten down good? Im thinking about using those or going for the wing nuts.

I just installed my typhoon and all i have to say is WOW...

first off, i used the extra brass stand offs as my bolts, putting the 2 other washer under them. I used a socket without the wrench and tighten it down till i thought it was tight enough. If you use the brass bolts, i tighten it down just enough to see the top of the screw coming out the top of the bass bolt...if you want to use the same amount of pressure i used.

So far so good, i was able to jack my voltage up alittle, my cpu up 20mhz more, and temps still about 3-4C on load. Very nice cooling for air...cant wait to get a better fan on it.
