Replace onboard sound with Chaintech

I recently upgrade from 754 msi neo platinum board Nf3 to 939 Dfi Ultra-D NF4.
I was using onboard on the msi and now I'm using on board sound with the dfi.

Now I'm not much of an audiophile, but for some reason this dfi sound module isn't as loud as the msi onboard sound. It kind of lacks the ump like bass. Yeah I know it's onboard sound and it's not suppose to be the best, but I did notice it.

I adjusted the settings for the onboard sound etc,it just seems like I have to turn everything up a little louder to hear what I was use too. Don't get me wrong the sound is decent.

Now I'm not using the greatest headphones in the world. I'm using some $30 buck pair of Aiwa HP-X233. The do fine for me at the moment. Keeps out people yapping which is what I like. If I offended any of you audiophiles by using these headphones I apologize.


Now my question is though.
If I bought the CHAINTECH AV-710 Sound Card, would that be better than what I have?
I don't really use my Logitech z340's without the headphones. I love the front headphone jack. Another question is am I taking away from my sound experience by plugging the headphones in the front jack or should they be plugged directly into the soundcard.

Last soundcard I own was the soundblaster live value,that was a nice card and best onboard sound I enjoyed was soundstorm on Epox 8rda+

As a stereo only source.... yea the AV-710 will be a nice upgrade for you.

As a multichannel gaming card.... skip it (it is no better then your onboard)
