I have a freind with the same set up as me (Exos)
he went to upgrade his cpu and had a hell of a time removing the
waterblock he actually ripped the cpu out of the board. Now its my turn
to upgrade my cpu. What can I do to remove the block?I used artic silver ceramic?
Thanks for any help.

You mean that the CPU stayed stuck to the bottom of the waterblock? After you unclip or unbolt the waterblock, gently rotate it to break the suction, then lift it off the CPU.

that happened to me when i removed the retail hsf to install a volano 7+ then agan when i removed the volcano to install the koolance. just gently wiggle the cpu free and re insert it.

That pretty much happens to me everytime I take anything off the cpu. It's not like I'm putting too much as5...it usually rips out and I just stick it back in and it works fine.

well bet your friends cpu was a p4
best way to change the cpu is to turn on the computer load the cpu up so the thermal compound will losen up a bit then unclip the block and if you twist the block like a full 90 degs back and forth and lift as you do so very slowy it will break the seal between them and should help

p.s if the cpu comes out attached to the block it wont hurt it
