I am sleeving my PSU, and have done all the power lines except the main mobo connector. I am wondering how i can remove all the pins from the plug, and subsequently how i can reassemble it.

Thanks,
Rob.

Don't know of any way to do this. However, you could just cut all the wires and then shrink tube them back together once you get the sleeving on. Long process, but it works.

wow, that's the long way!!

Just remove the pins from the plastic plug. If you look, you can see there are two little protruding clips on the side of each gold-colored female pin. Take a small screwdriver, and you can push them in, and then remove the whole thing from the plastic assembly.

Take a picture before you start, or have a wireing diagram handy, so you can put it back together correctly.

;)

thanks guys.

defcom_1, the method you describe is what i applied to the regular 4 pin molex plugs...but for my mobo plug i dont have a screwdriver small enough, and i don't see metal clips either.

They do make special tools to release the pins. I have a kit I used when I worked on cars. Good chance you can spend a few bucks at an Autozone or equivelent and pick up a terminal tool.

Well crap. :( Sorry. I don't have a spare PSU laying around right now, they're all in use, or I'd look for you...
According to this article, it's the same for the ATX connector, just smaller.
