I'm getting a new motherboard tomorrow and would like to remove my XP90 so I can get my CPU into the new mobo. I remember it being a bitch to put on and would like to know if anyone has any tips for getting it off?

Also, what would be the best way to get the CPU off the XP90 itself? I read something about heating the area with a blowdrier to make the thermal paste sticky then just pulling it right off. Would that work?

i carefully used a flathead to push the clips off. but you have to be very very careful not to slip :p

if the CPU is on the board, its locked in place, so when U remove the clips it should come right off.....

If the XP-90 mounts like the SI-120(which I believe it does), push down on each clip on one side of the heatsink and use a small screwdriver to nudge it out of the retention bracket. Once one side is off, just tilt the cooler and unhook it.
