Regarding, remote power cycle devices using an IP connection:
These are often mentioned as being used to power cycle, among other devices, cable or DSL Modems. I don't understand how the IP connection to remotely communicate with the Power Cycle unit can exist if the Modem is ITSELF a problem ("locked up" or otherwise). What is the methodology to resolve a problem when the MODEM itself is not functioning?
