REMOTE CONTROL for pc startup

I need to know if anyone has a remote to turn on a pc. Would replace, or go along side the power button for a computer. I tried using this like an RF On/OFF remote.
This one is ok but uses a 3V standby and for the xbox... dont really knoww if there is a better setup or actual product to do this . We could not get it to work. So if anyone has other Suggestions or serious leads.. thanks..

Fry's used to sell a remote on/off computer thing. I dunno if they still do but it's worth checking out.

I picked one up on ebay a while back for 20 bucks or so. I would check there first since there are not a lot of manufacturers for this type of item.

Gideontech or gruntville has a good article on how to make one out of a remote doorbell from radioshack, very simple. the Just Cooler product SUCKS, range is horrible and gets interference from everywhere, I tried a few of them and the PC would randomly boot up, shut down and go into standby or hibernation (depending on what I had the power and reset buttons set up to do in teh event they were pressed while the PC was on) I tested this with a few units on a few PCs, I set up windows that when the power or reset button was pressed it would ask me what to do (prompt would appear onscreen to ask to confirm the action) left them alone for a while and after a half hour all 3 machines had prompts on the screen. IE don't buy that crap product, Im still not sure where the interference came from. Probably a gargae door opener.

you screwed up somewhere, retrace your steps, I did it ages ago and it worked like a charm.

If it worked outside the case but not INSIDE the case then the problem is simple. Ya got a loose wire somewhere and its shorting against the case. (doesn't necessarily have to be a wire, could be a screw head from the box itself) Get yoruself some electrical tape there buddy.

Could be tha faraday effect. It's inside a big, grounded metal enclosure. OP- have you tried putting it in a bay, or maybe between the front bezel and the frame?
