I'm reparing a gateway for my friend, and here is my issue.
The main problem is when you load win98 using regular mode, the computer almost boots into the OS but before it gets there i get a BSOD and the error is "VFAT not initialized, system halted."
it's an older model gateway, and it includes a system restoration disk, which when you in sert and boot from it, it gives you an option to reinstall the OS. I click this, and when the computer reboots the restore tells me to insert a OS disk, but Gateway neglected to send any type of OS to these people, and if I try to use my personal Win98 disk it says that it is an invalid type of OS install disk.
Any Suggestions?
