Does anyone know of a good place to get refurbished LCDs? I'm looking for something to game on, 1600x1200 resolution, but I don't have $800ish to part with for a new one.

I dont' think there are many LCDs that can do 1600x1200 old enough to find them refurbished. They only came on the scene able to do that resolution not too long ago. Most refurbs are a couple of years old. Plus I don't think I'd want a used LCD, who knows what you're gonna get when it comes to dead pixels and such.

if you want 1600x1200 get a CRT.. better color, higher resolution and last 3 times longer... lcds need a few more years of improvement to really be better then CRTs.

quality 1600x1200 with a maximum refresh rate of 16ms (maybe 25ms will suffice for you,but most gamers want 16ms for fps) are damn near impossible to find new. and refurbished ones only save you about 30$ max. they are in too much demand now. go with crt.

prices are expected to drop in november - february when several plate manufactories* go online. just live with what you got until then.

now not the best time cause they just started with 12ms, and they feel as good as a crt refresh rate wise.

but so far the new dell monitors are the best overall. so if you must buy a refurb go dell. but youll still only save $30 or so.
get an extra job :)

thats not one that has the very high demand 1600x1200 resolution
