Hey,

My 5y/o CRT is going yellow. And it's brightness is garbage, I have to spike gamma in software to be able to see anything (contrast and brightness setting in hardware is 100%) while playing games and watching DVDs.

I am a digital photographer, this is important to me. I end up using my laptop for Photoshop and as you know, 4200RPM isn't too fun. I'm looking to getting a new display.

Locally I can pick up a Dell P991 19" CRT Trinitron FD for about $150, but it's refurbished. I've never dealt with refurbished monitors before, and I'm afraid of something going wrong. I know that Trinitrons are good though... thoughts?

(can't afford LCD as of now)

the only bad thing about refurbs is that the warranties are horrible. go pick up one from like goodwill or something for about $25 before getting a refurb. you might be better off. Refurb tend to be just as much as a new one.
