Erm...I am slowly putting together a system, and toying with the idea of watercooling.

I had a thought. I keep a small Wal-mart 50$ mini-fridge next to my pC. why not mount the pump/reservoir/radiator inside it? Active instead of ambient cooling?

You just have to make sure you don't get condensation because the water will be below room temp. Also seal up holes you put into your fridge very well.

MUAHAHAHA

Okay, after I get up and going, I am gonna try it, hehe. Be awhile though. Prolly nuther month at least. I'll post with what happens hehe

A minifridge will die trying to keep up with the thermal output of your computer.

eventually yes, it will die because the compressor will be running more often if not constantly. But I suppose you have to weigh up whether you think it's worth the performance gain vs the fridge. You could also just turn the fridge on when you're stressing the computer or in games or something like that

Either way I say go for it. think of it as a (very) ghetto phase change system :D

You will break the fridge and never get below ambient.

Its the cold (well, warm actually) hard truth.

the fridge wont die eventually, it would probably die sooner rather than later.

Get yourself a window AC unit instead. Works great for me.

that looks like the a/c unit in my dorm... but i don't think that you can remove the front cover on mine.
