Howdy all...I'm going to be doing a new custom setup on a Lian Li V1000: This one (in black) ....I have lots of options with this case..one is to go a dual with that and the rez cut into the top, but I was also thinking of using 2 single radiators in place of the stock 120 fan locations to avoid cutting this beautiful case. My question to y'all is: is there any advantage to the 2 singles, or would there be any problems. If you look at the pic, I'll be removing the HDD cages and remounting the drives standing up lengthwise to gain some room (note: the pic shows only one hdd cage and mine has two with shorter PSU area)..possibly for a tank-o-matic. Now logic would tell me that the front radiator would be first in the loop and drawing outside air, going to wherever, then to the second which would push out heat. Does this idea make any sense from a practical standpoint?

any setup that puts more hot air into a case doesn't really make sense

That doesnt matter because he will be watercooling the big heat sources, and the other big heat source, the power supply, will be exhausting air. There are no problems with your idea except for maybe tube routing, which could prove to be difficult Also, the delta T between the air coming out of a radiator and the air going in is not going to be very high because the air will be moving relatively quickly through it. You will not heat up your case and it is not like it will matter since you will have a watercooled processor and whatever else.

If you want, I have a Black Ice Extreme for sale with 1/2" barbs for $40. PM me if you are interested.

The rad is usually the biggest flow restriction in any WC setup. 2 doubles that. What kind of pump are you planning for this setup?

Some more info on this planned rig before WC components:
DFI LP UT nf3-250 (in hand)
retail 3700+ 754 (coming)
Either OCZ pc3700 EB, or OCZ EL Plat.rev2 with the new chips (2x512 ea. and I have both)
OCZ Powerstream 520w (in hand)
BFG 6800 Ultra

Case heat buildup doesn't concern me all that much because of the zoning of the case, and the fact that it has mesh everywhere.....the entire front, back, and bottom. The pump I was considering was: This One
Thanks for the replies all.... this was the type of honest opinions I was looking for.
