I just purchased a VGA PS3 cable from amazon. Im gonna hook it to my monitor. Is it true the VGA input does not have no lag at all? I know on some Samsung Tvs it has 0 input lag when using VGA

VGA must be the way to go when gaming. I could care less bout how game looks I just want to input lag.. Im also thinkn bout purchase a CRT monitor for the heck of it just to try VGA also on CRT lol :).

No, it's not true. Maybe it's different for HDTVs, but every monitor I've used has the same lag regardless of the connection, and as far as I know, the PS3 doesn't support VGA output, which means you're buying a converter cable that might add its own lag. Using an HDMI cable or a HDMI-DVI connection is the best way to connect a monitor to the PS3.

It depends on the model of your TV. Most TVs don't have much input lag when displaying VGA sources but it varies model to model.

"HDMI has bit of a delay", please explain. This is the first I've heard of it.

I dont use a tv to game. I use Asus VW246H monitor. The VGA port has no input lag at all. It is basically the PC port. I will have a very responsive screen just lose quality of the picture a little.

But I mainly plan on getting a CRT monitor and see how my cable here I bought works with PS3/CRT. I am hoping this cable also will work with my Asus VW246H.

When I said HDMI has bit of delay I meant input lag.

And I am trying to reduce the lag as most possible.. But a CRT has no input lag at all so if I can hook that cable to a CRT and it works! OMG Id be so happy lol.

CRT & VGA is free of any lag of course being both are analog.. but there's an analog to digital conversion going on with VGA & HDTVs.

dont know how VGA would have less input lag vs HDMI but I guess it depends on the TV..

Ive tested input lag on my Kuro plasma and the VGA input had around 50ms lag vs. 20ms over HDMI lol.

CRT has 0 input lag

A CRT will flicker like mad @60hz with a PS3, and won't fit the image properly.

Streetmarinee I have explained to you a million times, your former Viewsonic has no input lag (2ms), doubtful the Asus has any either. A CRT is not going to make any difference.

If you have a problem with streaking you need a monitor with a better response time, not lower input lag.
