I just got my Asus 20'', but it has a red pixel.

Anyone know how to fix it?

I believe you can gently rub your finger on the screen like you are brushing dirt off and it can fix stuck pixels.

I've tried every possible way to get rid of a stuck red pixel, nothing helped...

why don't u ask for a refund?
Fortunately we are here to help you, and not him ;)

Download dead pixel tester and run the "exerciser" from within the program. Place the small exerciser window over the stuck red pixel and let it sit there for at least 15 minutes at a time, you can break up that routine by leaving the exerciser on and shutting your monitor off for a couple of minutes at a time.

Many people would run that tester for a lot longer than 15 minutes btw. If my method above shows no results after a few tries, then you can try the exercise program for longer~ 30-45 minutes a pop maybe.

During the above workout, you can try the occasional light rub with a clean finger, but don't do it too much or too hard because it's real easy to leave a permanent bruise (i'm not joking).

Sometimes the stuck pixel will "twinkle" or shimmer before becoming unstuck, which is usually a good sign in my experience, it might be harder to notice on a smaller monitor with smaller pixels though, your eyes can play tricks on you.

I tried all these rubbing/pixel excercis, and none of them ever worked for me. What is the success rate of the rubbing/pixel excercise

Maybe people are confusing the dead pixel with a piece of dust behind the screen and when rubbing it physically moves the piece of dust/lint?

I guess im not gonna risk it. 1 red pixel is not worth killing my monitor.

Btw, can I ask for an exchange from Newegg, or maybe refund?

It's new, that's exactly what I would do. However, you might have trouble getting them to do anything about it. It's worth a shot though. The exercise method will not harm your panel but I would NEVER apply pressure to it though.

Did you even read my entire post? With that software there's nothing to risk.

Newegg will only exchange it if you have 8 stuck or dead pixels.
