Recommendation

well the Viewsonic VP191B and VX924 are both very different screens.

On one hand, the VP191B will soon be available with the new 8ms rated PVA panel from AU Optronics. Have a look in this thread where there's a lot more info on it. The emergence of these new fast PVA panels is surely one of the most exciting developments in the TFT market for some time, and will combine the pros of VA technology (namely good colours, good viewing angles) with the pros of TN film (fast pixel response). The VP191B would be a lovely choice, if you can hang on for a bit.

The VX924 on the other hand uses the new 4ms TN film panel. Just another case of (perhaps excessive) overdriven TN technology, supposedly improving on the previous high speeds of the 8ms and 12ms models which have become common in the 19" market. There is a review of the VX924 here at Hardwarezone.com which might help. Expect much more restricted viewing angles than the VP191B, and movie playback is said to be a little poor due to movie noise and associated problems caused by the overdrive technology. Looks like they have sucessfully improved the G2G response time though, so this will no doubt be a fast panel. If you're a pure gamer, then perhaps the VX924 would be a good bet, but if it were me, i would certainly stick with the VP191B when it's available
