I need a pair of headphones for my computer around the $100 mark. I will buy from taobao in China. I need them so that my gaming, movies, music don't disturb my girlfriend studying beside me and for her watching movies while I study. I bought a pair somic (chinese brand) headphones which are OK, but they are very uncomfortable after a while, too heavy, and the weight is not balanced. I also have difficulty hearing the dialogue in movies. I don't care about a mic and my priority is comfort and noise isolation. I will be using them for movies > gaming > music.

Still trying to look up more info. Not a lot of threads on this.

What are the best closed cans, priced around 100$ for movies and games? Also, definitely no amp and no sound card if I can help it.

Cat u get the beyerdynamic 770 pro 80 ohm ? They should be 150 but they are extremly confortable,and better than your other choices.
 
If the ATH-AD700 is available I would assume the A700, closed version, is available as well and would be my top choice followed by the M50. Both sets have excellent clarity and while the M50 is very flat and clinical the A700 will have a more colorful and fun sound.
 
The beyerdynamic 770 pro and not priced that low out here. The ATH-A700 are $100 cheaper then the 770.
 
Out of the list that you mentioned, my personal preference would probably be for the AKG k271's. However if you read up about them on Head-Fi they require a good source and excellent amplification. They are (from my understanding) very amp specific but are excellent at what they do.

I'm personally using Audio-Technica ATH-A900's which I have found to be quite good, especially in regards to sound stage, positioning, and fine details. However, I've also found them to be sort of squeaky... not the speakers themselves, but the 3D headband makes noises if I move and I find them to be sensitive to cord noise (cord noise is a reference to the cord moving or hitting another object and it making a sound, it is not a form of distortion or interference.) If I don't move then they're quite excellent.

Other good options are the Sennheiser 598's, but I'm not sure the price of them regionally. The Beyer 770's and 880's are also quite excellent, again not sure of their price in your area.

Aside from just giving general info, it might be wise to see if you can audition any of these headphones with some of your own favorite reference tracks. Find out if you want open, semi-open, or closed cans. Know how much you can/will invest in an AMP and/or DAC or not. Ask questions regarding headphones that are specific to your application and your musical preferences.

Head-Fi is excellent for all of this information. My only suggestion there, is that if and when you decide to go to Head-Fi, please use the search function. A lot of the same questions get asked often and although the members try to be as helpful as possible I know they find it exhausting to regurgitate the same information over and over.
 
China? Man you have more than just those headphones available. Check out head fi for a far greater selection than you could possibly imagine. Just don't believe everything you are told. In China, you should be able to actually go to a headphone store. Especially in Taiwan if possible.
 
I would need a visa and a flight to get to Taiwan. International shipping would be cheaper. I've had no luck finding a headphone shop in my city, Xiamen. I have come across numerous speaker shops for both computer and home theater though. I might hold off on my purchase until my next trip to hong kong. I bought a pair or Shure SE215 buds this afternoon and they should arrive in 2 days, I bought them for the gym but hopefully the are good enough from movies to last me until my next trip..
