recommend me a digital camera

well its not really for me.. its for my cousin.. but he's looking for a camera thats fairly cheap that will be his first digital camera.. it'll mainly be used as a point and shoot but manual features are nice if possible.. but the problem is he's looking in the price range of $100-150.. i have a canon a80 and really like it so i thought about recommending him the a60 that goes for $153 at newegg right now.. or is there another option from a different brand thats comparable in this price range.. thanks!
