I'm looking for a decent flatbed scanner for a decent price, perferably under $50. Tell me the ones I should look out for and the ones I should stay away from. thanks!
 
Get a Canon. I have an USB version and the reason I got it was that it doesnt need a PSU. It draws power from the USB cable. Very neat. Picture quality is great to.
 
Get a lexmark 1150, it can print, scan, and fax if you want. I paid like 90 dollars for it at bestbuy and im sure you can find it for cheaper. I have two of them at my house and they are wonderful.
 
I have Canon LIDE something

It doesnt need PSU power from USB 2.0

Its beatifull and very high resolution.

I saw it on a Mac Store.

and bought it at newegg for much lower :D.
 
I have a Visioneer 7100. It's good except the pictures come out a little dark sometimes unless I install their drivers and software which I dont like. Its no big deal cause you can just adjust the levels accordingly later.

I'm not sure if they still make this model though, I got it a year and a half ago, they have newer models that are about 100 bucks.
 
During school I usually use my girlfriends HP PSC 1210. It's a printer/scanner/copier combo, but it works amazingly well. Plus, if you ever decide to try Linux, support is already there!
