Im looking to build a new system come fall and having recently decided to not worry about BTX I am looking at some ATX cases. If you have any good recommendations thats would be nice, im not really looking to do much in the way of case modding but I may want to make the thing look a bit better.

If you have the money, CoolerMaster... esp. the Praetorian case. Best case I've ever dealt with quality wise.

If you want quality, go with a name brand, like Chieftech, Lan Li, Coolermaster, etc. If you want to look for the best bang for your buck, go to newegg and browse. Each case will have comments about it from previous people who have bought it, so you should get a good idea of what people think. And remember, the old saying goes: You get what you pay for. If you buy a 20.00 buck case, dont expect too much.

Kingwin KT424 cases are of great quality, and are fairly cheap. I think the windowed one looks the best though. I love the window on it.

Other than them, I'd say check into Silverstone cases. Newegg, Xoxide.com, and FrozenCPU.com sell them to the best of my knowledge.

InWin makes great cheap cases

if you have more money, go with coolermaster ot lian-li

It doesn't have a stock window but the Antec SLK-3700BQE is a fantastic case with a good PSU for the price, roughly $85 US at the EGG. I've used the case for numerous system builds and the layout is just incredible and promotes decent airflow even with the stamped grills. It's also relatively quiet if that's what you're looking for.

Good luck. :D

I agree 100%

I just bought one of these recently (without the window) and I love it. Aluminum, folded so no sharp edges, motherboard tray, sound dampening grommets for the HD's, built in rheobus for the two included fans, screwless design. 80 bucks at newegg. IMO the best case for the money. I was actually shocked at how nice this case was, and how well it stacks up against my brothers Lian Li.

I just changed my wifes case to an Antec P160 with the window. This is one amazing case. Plenty of room, nice layout, motherboard tray is great, and the harddrive cage is definatly rocking because you can put the harddrvies backwords and hide the cables.

Even though having 2 120mm fans, the case is definately alot quieter than others and keeps it cooler than most (not as good as the dragon chieftec cases). The ports and temp senser are really good looking. The drive bezels actually do work great to.

I would suggest this case!!

howzabout this one? has gotten great reviews (average 5 stars from customers), and looks pretty damn sweet....get this with a good antec or enermax power supply, and you're set. i especially like the way the HD bays are mounted 90º from the norm, and the HD's rest in "sliders" rather than being bolted to the case. you can either mount them with the connectors facing the window for ease of access/showing them off, or with the connectors away from the window to totally hide the IDE/SATA/power cables. not to mention, it comes with a LAN party strap carrier :D

Edit: oh, and it comes with two 120mm case fans...big airflow with less noise than smaller fans! :)

not a bad looking case, and you can fit one hell of a large fan in the side, but it's a bit expensive and doesn't even come with a PSU...but it does come with filters for all the inlets to help keep dust to a minimum:

I've been looking at this case for weeks. Amazing design. Reviews rate it very high in layout, cooling, expandability and construction. Not to mention you can have dually psu's.

Major downfall is the price, as well as the limited availability and extra cost of the crossflow fan and extra 120mm front drive bay racks.

I like the Lian Li PC73 or somethin but its not available at newegg. There's some available at frozencpu but I don't wanna make business with them with that kinda of Item. They kind of have problems in their packing dept.

Sorry to hijack his thread a little but I'm looking for a case like this at about the same price. I need something that has no front doors like this and Lian-li's but I also need enough room for watercooling. I've been looking all over newegg but have found very little so far. I would prefer 4x 5.5 exposed bays and 3x3.5 exposed bays on the front to place an aquatube (like this one) front . Black is prefered but I can paint if I have to. I don't need a PSu either. No window as I will be cutting my own for my Stargate themed case. There will be a mini Stargate around the Aquatube at the front so that the water looks like an active wormhole.

I really don't want to start a third "recommend me a case" thread within the past day so could I get some advice for my above post.

sorry not my bailiwick
(now if you wanted a rackmount recommendation... :p )

but that looks like a pretty explicit set of features
and a well crafted thread title would avoid the 3rd thread issue and possibly get you the info you need ;)

Alrighty, I'm going to look around some more and then I'll post a new thread with what I need. Thanks.
