My friend is looking for an external enclosure for his XPS gen 1 laptop (P4EE 3.4, 1GB DDR, Radeon 9700, etc). He is planning to migrate the SATA drives he puts inside the enclosure to a desktop he will build next year. His requirements are:
USB/Firewire 400 or 800 (maybe eSATA, but not a requirement since he doesn't have the ports)
2 drive (or more) capacity
Fairly quiet fan
He is also interested in RAID0 or RAID1, but it's for storage so I told him that RAID0 was pointless, especially since it's an external box that he would be using over USB/Firewire.
