I'm looking for a simple power supply to replace the one that died in my Mother's computer today. Her computer is fairly simple:

1ghz AMD Thunderbird
512mb pc133 RAM
GeForce 2
80gjg HDD
CD RW

I realise that it would possibly be easier to just buy a new system, but I need to extend the lifetime of her box for just a little while.

Fortron or Sparkle; they're the same thing. The X-Clio is also good and cheap.

FSP 300w with a single 80mm in the back. It will easily support it.

What kind of motherboard?

You're going to have all of these fan boy's recommend their favorite power supplies and not realizing that your motherboard may potentially not even have a 2x2 connector for CPU power, leaving the 12V2 unused and potentially crossloading the PSU with a high 5V load.

Look for something with one 12V rail and a higher 5V capability than the 12V rail (like 12V@18A and 5V@40A, no 12V2, for example.)

This is the PSU that I got. Its similar to the FSP Group one, just a little less on some of the rails.

Thanks for the advice guys.
