I've got one coming from newegg, (its actually already in town damn fedex tracking) and i want to know what kind of OC's people are getting from them now. I'm gonna stick it in my a7n8x-e deluxe , and cool it with an slk-800 and 3000rpm speeze fan. My memory is blue geil ddr3200. I'm hoping the nforce chipset will let me lock the mem at its stock bus , while ocing the barton passed the 200mhz fsb. I hope it can make it, i'm wondering if anybody has bought an OEM 2500 lately and would like to share their achievments.

first off please squish your sig down to comply with the rules ;D

as far as the 2500+ you won't hear much because people are gravitating towards the mobiles. You might not get a 'recent' chip so i'd be curious as to what stepping you get. I've seen some desktop parts that are just as good as the mobile parts. I personally have an AQZFA which was one of the early mobile steppings. It hits 2750 250x11 with water at 2.0v

And as far as locking the memory at it's stock bus, i'd avoid doing that as it will kill your performance. You want to run synch on the mem.

Here the thread from my experience - my stepping is AQUCA although I don't know what that means. Managed 2.3G in the end at 1.95V but it seems my o/c was a bit weak.
Good luck! and if you can go mobile.

2.5ghz for fun

2.4ghz prime stable

2.3ghz when i want low temps,

specs in sig
well yours is a mobile, is it not? I think the OP is asking about non-mobile desktops ;D

Also, let us know what stepping you get, you might get a really good chip. You can also check out the overclockers.com o/c database te get a feel what your chip can do. Take the results there with a grain of salt though..

oh yes regualr locked i got up to 2497mhz range, 11*227 if i remember right
wow, not bad. The only reason i could get mine up to 2750 was because of my AWESOME DFI infinity. It runs 250 comfortably... mine is locked too :(

dude you shoulda got a mobile... my 2500m runs 3200 speeds with LOWEST vcore and vdimm. i have the exact same mobo as you do, but probably a lot crappier ram

Since the AMD's have overheating safegaurds can I technically crank my voltages pretty high without worrying about my chip burning out? and whats a safe volt for stock cooling?

that was in my shuttle too ;)

2515 (11*228) on a superlocked week 43 barton. No complaints and no, i'm not switching over to a mobile ;)

i got my new 2500+, but it won't do 200mhz fsb stably. I have to jack up the voltage and then it gets to damn hot. bumn deal, i hoped i would hit 2300+mhz, but instead i have only 2083, same as my duron.. i hope the higher fsb and cache makes a big difference..

Wish I had got a moble. They wernt that big when I got this. Maybe ill get one someday.

My non-mobile 2500+ will hit 200 mhz fsb in my shuttle, with the stock ice, and no voltage mods...my shuttle doesn't have any of those. mobile...bah!

how do you keep it stable at 57c? mine seems to lose stability when it his like 50c...

Well you're already running 2.4Ghz

Unless you plan to hit 2.5 or 2.6Ghz, you're really not gaining much except lower temps...$70-$90 is alot to spend just to lower your temps since you already have a 2500+

Looking for lower temps and maybe just maybe, to up the fsb a bit? Its insane where its at already so I can deal without a moble. Its fun for gaming, along with the 4mbps.

I have a Barton 2500+ right now in my computer, and using an Asus A7N8X I've gotten the FSB to 203MHz, making it a 3300+, using an Aero 7+ cooler and Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound, with a 1.85v vcore. It full loads at about 43ºC, and idles at 40ºC. With your deluxe mobo, you should be able to get it higher ;). In case you were wondering, I have Corsair DDR400 RAM. It's really a very excellent and reliable processor, though I'm a bit dissappointed with my overclocking results when comparing to some other people who have gotten it higher.

mines arent that new, about 3 mths old but they are much better than 3 older ones i had. old ones were unlocked but required 1.8-1.9v to run 2.2ghz stable so they ran really hot. 2.2ghz wasnt stable with zalman 7k on hot day.

two i have:
AQYHA 0414 - 2.2@1.5v, 2.42@1.7v with stock amd hsf, 2.53@1.8v with 3d cooler pro.
KQYHA 0419 - 2.2@1.65-1.7v with 3d cooler pro..
havent pushed them higher yet..

hey man, 1 more reason to get mobile.

prime stable 16 hours on 2.4ghz 2500m. *LOWEST* woot, vcore and vdimm setting.

mobiles pwnz j00r b0x0rz
