rebooting didnt delete my document fiels. How can i?

I reboot my computer but it shows the file that were before rebooting them and i dont want them to be there. i thought rebooting computer will delete everything from my hard drive. it did delete all the software that i installed in my computer but it didnt delete files that were in my document.

reformatting will wipe a hard drive, but not much better than just deleting the files. Why?
