really stupid XP folder-view question

If I set a folder view to Details, and Apply the view of the current folder to all other folders, will this change the My Music and My PIctures folders?

If so, can I avoid changing the views of those two folders?

Is there any way to set a folder's view and column structure, then name it as a template that you can apply to other folders other than just subfolders?

For instance, I want all directories that contain pictures to show in thumbnails, and all that contain MP3s to show filename, size, duration, artist, title, file type.

ok, i'm revisiting this issue...

when i set a folder's view the way i want it, is there any way to copy that view to all of its subfolders, and not every folder on the partition?

can i edit the existing templates?

it might require an external app, if one exists
