Really need some help (Overheating issue maybe)

I have a Chaintech Geforce 6600 GT and I think it's overheating. Whenever I try to play any game the graphics are really garbled. It's fine when I'm on the desktop or surfing the net, but games have the graphics problem.

I've tried reinstalling drivers, upgrading drivers, downgrading drivers, checking fan flow. The area around the graphics card itself doesn't feel warm or hot.

Is there anything else I can do? I just got this card in February :(
 
Have you loaded up CoolBits and underclocked? (instructions here) If underclocking a lot doesn't fix it then it's not an overheating problem. Does the corruption show up as soon as you enter 3D mode or does it take a few minutes? You can take the direct approach on possible overheating by opening the case and aiming a desk fan at the video card. If it runs longer before corruption shows up then it's probably overheating.
 
Think I found the problem - the heatsink is loose from the graphics processor. Guess I'll have to send it back to newegg for replacement. Is there any way i could fix this myself?
 
I don't know if tampering with heatsink will invalidate your warrenty?
I am from Europe and don't know the US laws *S*
