Guys,

I have a 30 Gig on the Primary and a 160 gig on the secondary controller.

I was running 3dmarks last night. When it came to the second test, it blue screened. (Win2K).
I turned it off and then on again. Once into windows, I noticed that I did not show my drive F (160 gig) in My Computer.

I went into Computyer managament and noticed that it showed the 160 gig as unallocated space!!!

I absolutely have no idea why that would happen.

Any ideas and how I might be able to avoid it in the future? Maybe put it on its own controller?

Your partition table probably got zapped. NTFS is a pretty robust filesystem, so I have my doubts that it was damaged. Moving the drive to another controller won't do much of anything if the machine itself is unstable, and the crash during 3dmark suggests that. If you dig through the stickies there are links to tools with which you can try and recover the partition table. Investing a good hour or two may well recover all your data. Secondly, run a few diagnostics such as Prime95 and memtest86+, the former will test the CPU for stability, the latter your memory. These will help you in determining whether there is a correctable hardware fault.

Well, it has been running slowly for quite awhile. I got zapped with a crapload of spyware and shit like that that was hard to remove. I was going to format anyway.

But I will run these programs and see what they tell me.

thank you for the help.
