I opened the side of my wavemaster case, system board temp was 25 C, and then I closed the case and it rose from 25C to 33C, i have two fans intake, and one exhaust with a panaflo 92mm on the chip. What can i do to get these case temps down, besides getting a louder fan? Is 8 degrees a big difference?

What type of fans are you using? You can get better fans that arent much louder, it depends on the blade design for how well they move air.

It is normal for temps to be a little higher when all that heat is totally enclosed.

In the meantime, you can try to route your cables as neatly as possible and out of the airflow path. Should help a little.

I am thinking about installing a fan in the top of the case, there is a place for one, I am not sure that it is going to be enough though to drop the temp 5 degrees or so.. I am thinking about getting a external watercooling setup... maybe the exos to keep it simple... will that lower the system temp? I think it would because i am exchangien the heat from the processor outside the case, but is it going to make a big difference????

You are better off piecing a kit together yourself. Better performance, similar $$.

Cpu block, (gpu block optional), pump, radiator and fan, res, and tubing. Pretty simple.

edit, I knew I forgot one.

Hey, I just bought a WaveMaster recently myself! I noticed my temps went WAY up after getting that case. It is a sweet case, but it doesn't have the best airflow. I installed an exhaust fan in the top like you're talking about doing, but the built-in aluminum filter restricts airflow, so that it doesn't push much ouf top.

You *could* put in an 80mm Vantec Tornado. That thing pushes so much air it is rediculous! I coupled it with coolerMaster's fan controller with some decent results, but the Tornado is still really REALLY loud. Did I mention it was loud? :p

Anyway, my cpu temps went from 42c under load with my old Antec case to 54.5c under load with the WaveMaster

I am now putting my watercooling stuff together (I'm a watercooling newbie) because I'm just plain tired of being able to hear my computer from anywhere in the house.

i can second all of that. temps go up 7c for me with the door on only after a couple mins, maybe if i leave it on for a while id get the increase your reporting PrkChpXprss. until i pick up an exos (soon) the door will remain off my case. if i had known about the air flow issue with this case i might have had second thoughts. overall its the best case ive owned, after the exos case temps wont matter as much.
