For some reason, flashing a modified bios from the Radeon Bios Editor is causing havoc with the fan on my MSI 4850. Changing clock speeds cause my fan to act erratically, switching randomly between 0-60%. (Default is static 60%). Changing the fan profile to a transfer function, so speed is proportional to temperature, causes the fan to stop spinning at all!! Any idea what might be going on? Suggestions?
 
No problem. Here is the original fan settings:

Try these settings. If it does not work then perhaps manually entering values via the "Use lookup table" option:

Tmin: 50
Tmax: 101
Duty cycle min: 0

Hysteresis: 4
Spin up cycle: 80
Tmin hysteresis: 4
Spin up time: 2





My own personal favorite for both 4870 and 4850 are manual values of:

Threshold: 30 - 60 - 65 - 70 - 75 - 80 - 85 - 90
Fan speed: 35 - 35 - 45 - 55 - 65 - 75 - 85 - 95

Hysteresis: 0
Spin up cycle: 80
Tmin hysteresis: 0
Spin up time: 2
PWM ramp: 1
PWM ramp on: checked
 
With a duty cycle min of 0, won't that shut my fan off if the temp is below 50? Seems a little worrisome to me.....
