rating system

not exactly sure if this has been posted as an idea before but since the join date is no longer shown next to the posts in the forum why dont you add a rating system for a single person where people who have been helped by someone can give that person a point for helping them. The person would ahve to give a short reason why they wanna give the point to the person so that people arent just giving points to their friends so that they can have a lot of points. Another thing could be only admin and moderators of each forum can give good posters and people who give a valuable opinion or our just a good member a point so that other people can see that they have lots of points and other people can trust their opinion.
Just a few ideas tell me what yah think...

Probably no matter how you did it, it would degenerate into excessive good ratings, or spiteful bad ratings. If you stay in one section for a little while you can pretty much figure out who the "authoritative sources" are in that section. Plus it'd be one more thing that'd have to be monitored and controlled, and there's already a lot of work going into what's already being done.

There is a rating system built into vBull, it was discussed and shot down for the same reasoning as not displaying postcount.
