Okay well I just put the finishing touches into my new lian-li. This is my first time ever watercooling anything!
Naturally I tore the baggy which runs the coolent across the ram and had to use metal tape + silicone to repair it, but it is working flawlessly now.

The green loop goes res->pump1->120mm radbox->pump2->mobo north->mobo south->all 4 ram->res
The Blue loop is res+pump ->cpu->vga1->vga2->rad.->res+pump.

The specs are as follows: CPU = qx6700 (quad core), Video card = 2x8800gtx sli'd, mobo is evga 680i T1, the ram is 2x2GB kingston 6400 + 2x1GB cheepo-ram 6400 total: 6-GB, the monitor (not shown) is 24" dell, generic speakers, saitek-2 keyboard, razer exactmap mousepad and microsoft laser mouse 8000.

and she looks pretty at night :D

Well, I suppose I better overclock this thing before I get yelled at, I'll get back w/ 3dmark06 scores

not bad for a first attempt... although that is one big spaghetti junction of tubing lol.. i would try neatening it all up next time you drain or do some maintenance on your system.

i hate to be a wanker, but just looking at all that koolance stuff on a nice rig like that makes me cringe. you shoulda really got DD / Swiftech stuff i think.

but overall well done.. i know its not easy to sit and do all of that.

a clear picture would be nice. Damn man you have Quad core :( i don;t

Enjoy just kidding. :D

i would keep the 2x2gb sticks...sell the other 2x1gb cheapos...and either keep it that way, or get another 4gb kit of exact matching kit. also, i would cut some of the slack out of the lines that are installed. two loops, i like it!

i agree... koolance is okay WC. for the heat-dump you have with the quadcore and 2 gtxs i would go with a thermochill 120.3 rad with a laing dcc plus pump

if you want to passme a GTX I'll give it a 10 :p

Baggy for the ram? That does not sound good. I would not trust a metal tape + Silicone fix in my case.

2 loops, looks good for what it is, why not? When you have that much liquid theres probably not alot you can do to clean it up.

I always hate it when someone shows off their rig and certain parties immediately start criticizing their choice of water cooling gear based on their own issues.

nice man. i am going with koolance in my HTPC because i need to fit a lot of stuff in a smallish case: athlon 2500-m, NB, SB, Vreg's, 2 x wd 500gig, 1 x wd 250gig and aiw x800xt

i im not looking for low temps though just cooling everything that needs air flow with only the two 120mm exhaust fans.

you a a diamond in the rough Top Nurse :) Don't worry about though, I had my rig torn apart before I watercooled it by the cable managment team, I knew the kritiks i was inviting when I started this thread, let them gab, it works beautifully for me :)

There a many reasons to watercool, overclocking being one of the many. For me, I was forced to because of a similar issue where there was not enough space for airflow so instead of getting yet another case I decided to splurge a bit and get a more perminate solution :p sometimes it pays later to pay earlier :p . Anyways what is the "aiw x800xt"?

you wouldnt imagine how i felt when I noticed greed liquid flowing (literally flowing) out of my ram! especially considering the PSU is underneath it all! I was so sure I fried ram + mobo, but the gods must love me ^^. The metal tape with silicone lathering works amasingly well!, just give it 24 hours to dry before testing. The baggies I refer to are these pouch-like sacks that slide on either side of the ram, they feel metallic (like metal made bags) so I figured that tape would work. But we will see if it stands the test of time wont we :)

You could not be more on point Adidas, 120.3 all the way. With this particular rig it seems to work fine for me, I get temps of 38C on the CPU which is within spec for me, and that is with the fans set to 3/10! So she looks prime for the over-clocking to me :) (PS: the 8800gtx's ARE downstream of the CPU, so I am letting NTUNE do all the intial overclocking 12-hours from now it will be done)

looks very messy imho:eek: I smell like a fart
Okay he didn't say "I smell like a fart", but thank you for your humble opinion ;)

take out the cheapo ram and run the good stuff in dual channel.

This is an idea I am considering, Im not sure if the cheep-o ram is dual channel, I dont think I would have bought ram that was NOT dual-channel though, In any case I am really split on spending the $ to get another two kingston 4 gigs in 2 sticks at 6400. You can imagine I spent a pretty penny already, and Its hard deciding to make that last final upgrade, but I probably will do that pretty soon.

About the Loops, I already have plans to shore those extra long tubes up next maintinence chance I get.

a clear picture would be nice. Damn man you have Quad core :( i don;t
Enjoy just kidding. :D

hah, just feel glad you havent spent money on something that cant even be utilized! its like having a 20,000 watt microwave and nobody to cryogenically un-freeze  But seriously, you asked for clear pictures, well im working with a cell-phone camera so hopefully several angles will give an accurate impression, so here you got em:

Thanks for the posative criticizm, your not a wanker in my book, but you are british :D I know my spagetti machine looks tasty but do not chew the excess coolent tubing that has been used, i found out the hard way. Yes I like to chew on plastic sh*t, don't make fun of me  . I'll make'er look purdy 4 ya next chance I get.

Thx 4 the comments so far, helpful indeed :)

Nice work! Is that one or two loops?

two seperate loops, see original post for the two loops and which components are on which color loop

PS: the green loop is run through 6cm tubing instead of the 10cm blue/purple loop. (I think those are correct #'s) so its a bit smaller but it packs a similar punch with two pumps working in series!

I wasn't trying to degrade. I am sceptical of koolances rads and pump being able to cool 2 gtx's and a quad core. post some temps ans screenies showing load and idle temps of the cpu and gpu's.

it looks nice and nice hardware. but if someone asks for oppinions you can't expect to only hear positive.

top nurse this isn't about brand but rather temps. I know you are a low flow AC person and I really enjoy your comments and oppinions.

anyways to the OP looks nice but post some pics of temps.

later guys

okay, I will show you both idle and loaded temps, ill use prime95, or is there some other software that will load more thuroghly?

You might change your opinions, off hand I remember 45 celc. being shown when i was playing supcom, but you sound like a man who likes his facts and pictures. You might be suprised and change your opinions.

Also any particular cpu temp monitoring software you prefer? or would nvidia monitor software be enough?

Okay well this is what I have so far...

IDLE TEMPS 1 & 2

Ill have load temps later tonight

UPDATE: i am taking a while on these load temps cause my computer is on the verge of death, i might have it fixed tomorrow, maybe not.

yes i have an over clocked system aswell. its aging but still runs everything i play fine so im in no rush to upgrade.

ATI all in wonder x800xt graphics card

Very NICE!
I'd bring that outside 120mm rad inside. It's not going to take much space inside and overall your case will look neater.
Koolance is very nice. Maybe not the best nor cheaper, but those are very fine parts.
One thing I dislike about koolance is their aluminium rad.... wtf?

bad idea...... leave it outside

Why is there 2 pumps just to cool the NB/SB and RAM?

OP- 2/10.....Just kidding:p I like the dual loops dual colors. I bet your getting some awesome temps. The only thing wrong, as others have mentioned, is that its a little messy.

grinchy - 13/10... would have given you a 15, but with a system like that you shouldn't be asking for a rating, especially on someone else's thread...I know your not serious.

kos then the rad will get no airflow, its better outside
especially since its a single rad.
the ambient heat will take a dump on temps

i speak from experience

I concur. Your temperatures will be much lower if you keep the radiator external to the case. Even if you have great airflow through the radiator itself, if it is in the case, all of that heat is being dumped into the case. This heat in turn must be pumped out by the case fans, which are already working to pump out the heat from other components.

I dropped 10C by making my entire cooling system external.

maybe they should go gold with their next model ^^

good job, every loop after your first

will be better and better

thanks for the vote of confidence!

Why is there 2 pumps just to cool the NB/SB and RAM?

the two pumps is because i thought that my old pump was not working, I did not realise that a single pump is not strong enough to lift that much coolent through all the tubing and that the case needed to be turned upside down/manually pumped to get going  but now it flows like a beast, so i left the second pump and re-installed the first one, An extra wont hurt... right? they are quiet and dont take much wattage.

PS: I would get a 10/10 on wireing/tubing if you saw it now ;)

this is probably true, as much as my system is geared for looks, the specs are very important to me.

UPDATE: my computer crashed, I probably fried the mobo, so I took it to a super-nerd friend to fix, and ill have more updates on that tomorrow..

Lastly; I have another radbox laying around. should I use it or will it not change anything.. If I should use it, where would I put it? I DO have a 2nd pump :) 3 loops maybe?!
